Zabriskie Büchladen
Identity design for a small bookshop in Berlin dedicated to finding special books about nature and culture. The logo design comes from the act of reading, so the underline on the name is actually the path done by our eyes. And that’s why the logo can change position and shape in the different supports, and still be readable. The logo also tries to evoke the movement of your eyes when you read a book, line after line. Reading a book / reading a landscape. Zabriskie’s name was taken from the movie by Antonioni, Zabriskie Point, shot in the Death Valley desert. The movie is a symbol for the bookshop, where the owners aim to go against the mainstream and money driven businesses (like amazon) and instead focus on having few carefully selected books on the subjects they love. The stationary was printed locally and with ecological paper. www.zabriskie.de
